
In this workshop, local horticulturist expert Dhyan Blore will discuss the most important components for a nature enhancing garden. We’ll give advice on bird baths, how to place rocks and as well as the best methods for maintaining your garden in all seasons. Foundational principals on when to water and the most effective ways of mulching will also be covered. Afternoon tea will be provided. There is another workshop in the morning, Introduction to Sustainable Gardening, which will be covering separate topics. Participants are welcome to register for one or both workshops. Both workshops are also running in Bathurst.
These are the first in our Biodiversity Boosters workshop series, running over 2026-27. These workshops will cover a range of topics to empower community members to increase biodiversity in their local patch, whether large or small. We will be announcing more workshops soon.
About the presenter. Dhyan is a Landscape Designer, Horticulturist, Ecologist and Sustainability Educator with over 20 years experience in the horticulture, agriculture, farm forestry and landscaping sectors.She has a strong background in amenity, conservation and production horticulture having worked in botanic gardens, retail and wholesale plant nurseries and design and installation of rural and residential gardens.
Dhyan specialises in Water Smart Gardening and biodiversity conservation work delivered via community workshops, educational videos, print and electronic media all with a strong focus on fostering behavioural change for improved resource conservation.
